Shula’s Steak House Restaurant

Shula’s Steak House Restaurant

I paid a visit to shula’s steak house restaurant to celebrate my birthday. We were greeted by a friendly hostess upon arrival, and I was wished a happy birthday. Shula’s steak house has bar seating and the main dining room. We were seated at the bar, which was not as luxurious and comfortable as the main dining area. After all, we were sitting on bar stools, not the plush cushions in the other parts of the restaurant.

Dining:

After being seated by the host, we were greeted within a few minutes by another employee. Brought a sign saying it was my birthday. He Dropped rose petals on the table. Shortly after our server greeted us and wished me a happy birthday and took our drink orders. I ordered a Coco Rita, which was coconut tequila, muddled pineapple, and citrus juices.  The drink was delicious, had a pleasant fruity taste, and was served with sugar on the rim instead of Salt.

We placed our order for one Burrata salad split between two plates. The salad consisted of red and yellow tomatoes, artichokes, basil, onions, extra virgin olive oil, basil and topped with a balsamic glaze. Burrata cheese was on top, and this dish was served on a chilled salad plate. The salad was delightful and full of great flavor.

After the salad, we placed our steak orders (my favorite part of the meal). I ordered a 12-ounce filet, medium rare. The steak came on a plate with a ramekin of Bearnaise sauce and was cooked between medium rare to medium. The steak itself was flavorful and super tender because of filet. However, some of the flavors were missing because the steak was slightly overcooked.

My husband ordered the 22-ounce cowboy ribeye, medium rare, and his meal was also served on a plate with a ramekin of Bearnaise Sauce. His ribeye was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. Along with our steaks, we ordered a side dish of potato gratin. This was Boursin cream, gruyere, white cheddar, parmesan crust, topped with parsley and served in a round bowl and was very hot and very, very good.  Really, these potatoes were excellent, some of the best I have had.

Manager’s Check

The manager came over to check on us. Since it was my birthday, he offered us a glass of champagne and a free dessert. The desert we ordered was the Crème Brulee Trio. This consisted of three ramekins with one traditional Crème Brulee, one chocolate and one orange flavored. And to our delight, all three were delicious. Along with our dessert, we drank the champagne, which was also fantastic.

The service we received was good but not as excellent as you would expect from a high-class restaurant like shula’s steak house restaurant.
