KATZ’S NEVER KLOSES

                                                    KATZ’S NEVER KLOSES

Katz’s has been a Texas institution for more than 30 years. We opened our first authentic, New York deli in Austin, Texas, in 1979. And it did not take long for our classic New York cuisine to win the hearts of cowboy country. Before we knew it, lines were out the door and around the block. People could not get enough of our signature dishes: the towering Reuben, the tart and crispy fried pickles, the rich and creamy Cheesecake Shake. They got so busy; that we stayed open 24 hours. And that is where we got our saying, “Katz’s Never Kloses.”

Over time, we moved to Houston and opened locations in Montrose, The Woodlands, and The Heights. But we always stayed true to our original mission: to provide the freshest and most authentic New York deli-style dishes, painstakingly prepared according to generations-old family recipes. Visit Katz Deli at any of their Houston locations and dine on the best deli-style dishes in Houston.

At Katz Deli, the menu is a testament to the timeless appeal of classic deli fare, with a nod to modern tastes and preferences. Whether you are craving a hearty sandwich piled high with savory meats or seeking comfort in a bowl of matzo ball soup, there is something to satisfy every appetite.

One of the undisputed stars of the menu is the pastrami sandwich – a towering masterpiece of thinly sliced melt-in-your-mouth beef nestled between slices of fresh rye bread. Expertly brought, smoked, and hand-cut on-site, Katz Deli’s pastrami is a labor of love that embodies the deli’s commitment to quality and authenticity. Each bite is a symphony of flavors, with the rich, peppery meat complemented by tangy mustard and crisp pickles. Another good dish is Lisa’s Belgian Waffle. This is a waffle topped with strawberries, chocolate chips, and whipped cream. In the middle is a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This sounds like it might be overly sweet; however, it was not as sweet as I imagined but it was exceptionally good. This is for the person who is not so much into Jewish-style food.

For those craving a taste of tradition, the corned beef sandwich is a must-try. Made from tender, slow-cooked brisket, thinly sliced, and piled high on rye bread, this classic deli staple is a timeless favorite that never disappoints. Pair it with a side of crispy potato latkes and a dollop of creamy applesauce for a meal that is sure to satisfy.

Of course, no visit to Katz Deli would be complete without sampling their famous matzo ball soup. Made from scratch using an old family recipe, this soul-warming broth is infused with the hearty flavors of chicken, vegetables, and fragrant herbs. But the true star of the show is the matzo ball itself – light, fluffy, and utterly irresistible, it is the perfect comfort food for any occasion.

In addition to its signature sandwiches and soups, Katz Deli offers an array of other mouthwatering options, including brisket platters, smoked fish, and traditional Jewish specialties like knish and kugel. And for those with a sweet tooth, their selection of homemade desserts – from rugelach to black and white cookies – is sure to satisfy any craving.

What sets Katz Deli apart is not just the food – it is the sense of warmth, camaraderie, and tradition that permeates every aspect of the dining experience. Whether you are a regular or a first-time visitor, you are welcomed like family from the moment you walk in the door. The bustling atmosphere, the friendly chatter of diners, and the aroma of freshly prepared food create a sense of belonging that keeps patrons coming back repeatedly.

Moreover, Katz Deli is more than just a restaurant – it is a cultural institution that honors and celebrates the rich tapestry of Jewish-American heritage. From the vintage photographs adorning the walls to the nostalgic music playing in the background, every detail is a loving homage to the deli’s roots and the generations of families who have passed down their culinary traditions.

As Katz Deli looks to the future, its commitment to excellence, authenticity, and hospitality remains unwavering. Whether you are stopping in for a quick lunch, gathering with friends for dinner, or celebrating a special occasion, you can always count on Katz Deli to deliver a memorable dining experience that is steeped in tradition and filled with flavor.

In an ever-changing culinary landscape, Katz Deli stands as a beacon of stability and comfort – a place where time-honored recipes and timeless traditions come together to create moments of joy, connection, and culinary bliss. So, whether you are a Houston local or just passing through, be sure to add Katz Deli to your list of must-visit destinations – you will not be disappointed.
